Gabriella Santini is an anthropologist working in Kenya. Her work often explores themes of political ecology, land territorialization, and multispecies entanglements.
Her fieldwork is grounded in participatory, collaborative, and experimental approaches.
Gabriella obtained her PhD from UCL’s Department of Anthropology. Her doctoral research focused on Maasai engagement with the savannah ecosystem and the implications of colonial land and conservation policies in shaping how people relate to and imagine their environment. Her research was funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Royal Anthropology Institute (RAI), and the Parkes Foundation.
She is based between London and Nairobi.
